Our 7th JKS kyu grade seminar and grading

Sunday May 27th was the day when we brought Sensei O'Keeffe back down to conduct our first grading of 2018.  With over 30 of you grading it was a busy day but overall it was a successful day with 4 members reaching the rank of 1st kyu brown belt.  Next time around they will be grading in Dublin for their black belts whenever that time will be.  Lots of other successes on the day with new beginners grading for their first time, kids and adults alike.  More of you who may have wanted to do better know what improvements you need to make.

All in all a very good day and right back at it this week as usual.

Very proud of you all, well done and keep up the good work.

Competition success for Limerick Shojinkai members

In recent months we have had some good success in competitions around Ireland. The Piltown open saw us bring home 3 medals from just 2 participants on the day with Leo Plesiak picking 1 up in kumite and Abdallah Hamerneh taking home two in both kata and kumite.  Not bad for the boys as they start to gather experience in the tournament setting.

April 22nd saw us travel to DCU for the annual JKS Ireland Open where from a total of just 5 competitors we brought home a total of 6 medals, Kaori Frizelle, Dave Frizelle & Abdallah Hamarneh doing the honours on a very good day.
